Although we would probably like to believe that all great thoughts are formulated by us alone, I’ve learned over and over that my real accomplishments are traced back to the questions, feedback and advice of others.

I receive a lot of great ideas from my family, friends and most certainly my clients. Something that has come up more than once is a concern about vertigo resulting from corrective eye surgery.

This is a very interesting question and Im eager to comment on what I’ve learned.

Vertigo results from tension around the balance system in the ears. This tension creates a situation in which the body is unable to properly distinguish body position. Tension also prevents adequate blood flow to the head, so the brain lacks in oxygen and nutrition.

This is especially problematic since all of the muscles above the neck work in tandem when the lack of balance occurs.

Complaints of vertigo or dizziness following surgery exist for many people. Many people find that it did not last long and was minor, but others have complained of long lasting negative affects.

Also frustrating is that some people find that their doctors tend to deny that vertigo or dizziness could result from the eye surgery.

My intention is not to try to turn anyone against the surgery. A lot of people have found it extremely beneficial.

However, potential side effects as well as improvments need to be weighed out thoroughly before undergoing any medical procedure.

An important aspect of eye surgery I’ve learned from others is that it is possible some effects such as vertigo or dizziness can last for weeks or even longer.

Again, some of these problems may be rather minor and short term but others find it necessary to seek treatment.

Due to the possibility of negative reactions post surgery, some people have turned to accupuncture or simply keeping the eye glasses rather than taking the risk.

No matter how you decide to address your situation, the answer is very personal. Something others find affective may or may not work for you.

I strongly recommend you review many possible treatments and weight the various risks and benefits before committing to the solution.

It is completely acceptable to consult with more than a single doctor. Make sure you review your questions or worries. Also inquire about follow up care, especially if you find that you are suffering from vertigo or other negative post surgery issues.

Continue your search if the answers you get do not make you feel confident.

I also suggest my Vertigo/Dizziness Program. It is all natural and solves the problem by relaxing and strengthening the muscles in your head. It has shown great success no matter what the reason for the dizziness or vertigo is.
